Perfume Home : Perfume Mix
Making Organic Perfume MixPerfumes can be of two types. They can either be made completely of naturally available substances or they may contain certain synthetic or chemical additives over and above the natural base. The latter variety, where no chemical alteration is involved, is often categorized under the name ‘Organic Perfumes’. The most basic ingredients that go into the making of organic perfumes are typically obtained from plant extracts. This Perfume Mix extracts contain the fundamental oils and the necessary aromatic compounds. Different varieties of plants give different fragrances. It is also interesting to note that extracts from different parts of the same plant such as leaves, flowers, seeds etc also sometimes give away different scents leading to a wide spectrum of fragrances. Flowers, though, are the most productive when it comes to perfume oil extracts. Roses, jasmines, the mimosa tuberose etc are only some of the many varieties of flowers that find their use in the organic perfume industry. Similarly, leaves, certain twigs and even some fruits such as oranges and lemons provide useful extracts In the ancient times, organic perfumes were the only ones used. Slowly, with the advancement of the basic sciences, man-made chemicals were invented that could further enhance certain desirable properties of perfumes such as compressibility (for sprays), homogeneity etc. Chemicals are also added to perfumes sometimes to supplement the already existing fragrance. However, of late, these chemicals have been found to be sometimes detrimental to the skin and can also cause harm to the environment. Infact, certain chemicals used frequently in perfumes are even said to be contributors to global warming. Therefore, with wide usage of chemicals in perfumes on the one side, the obvious advantages of using organic perfumes over artificial ones came to the fore. Today, a lot of time, money and energy is being spent into the development of more and better organic perfumes. The perfume industry, one can say, is in the process of completing a full cycle and going back to developing a organic perfume mix. The ‘green’ tag attached to organic perfumes is attracting a lot of attention among the present clientele. Of course, that doesn’t mean synthetic perfumes are out. On the other hand it is just that organic perfumes mixes are more in. |
